I’ve been experimenting to see how well Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) can do ‘joins’ across data records for data management and search queries.
Take this example. A prompt providing Gamma Ray well log data by Depth and API value, followed by Geological Formation well pick intervals.
I then asked the question “What formations have average GR API greater than 200?”
In order to do this the inference required is to match the depth of the top and bottom of the formation to the GR log and calculate where the Ave GR value is > 200.
The answer is impressive given this simple test.

Did this hold for any other simple operator type queries?

Hi Richard It appeared to be successful for ‘less than’ as well. The query “What geological formations contain a Gamma Ray API equal to 23?” was also successful (Green Formation).
