AI in Geosciences Conference: Geological Society of London 4-5 June 2026

We have 60 talks and posters from over 20 countries at the Geological Society of London first “AI in Geosciences” conference 4-5 June 2026. Topics include mineral prospecting, geothermal, oil and gas, carbon capture and storage, geohazards, geotechnical engineering, oceanography and marine science, environment and hydrogeology, academic and education and geoethics.

The accepted papers are from researchers and practitioners world-wide:
Europe (UK, France, Norway, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and Germany)
Americas (United States, Brazil and Chile)
Africa (Nigeria, Algeria and South Africa)
Asia (China, India, Türkiye and Thailand)
Oceania (Australia)
Middle East (Saudi Arabia)

For a bit of fun I created a word cloud using just the top frequency bigrams of the titles of all the talks. It makes interesting reading regarding the terminology used by both practitioners and researchers in this space. For example, the bigram of “Artificial Intelligence” does not feature.

The conference is hybrid (virtual or in person), to register link in the comments.
