
AI Ethics in Geoscience: Organisations representing over 300,000 geoscientists have now endorsed the recommendations from our report.
The “AI Ethics Recommendations for the Geoscience Community” were produced by the Task Group on AI in the Geosciences – of the Commission on Geoethics of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS).
The report was published in late September 2025, which was reviewed and approved by 22 experts from 14 countries accross 6 continents. Since then the recommendations have been individually endorsed by the American Geosciences Institute , European Federation of Geologists , Geological Society of South Africa , international association for promoting geoethics (IAPG) and international association for geomorphologists (IAG) – with more to come!
