Fossil Box for Schools including Special Educational Needs.

Fossil Box for Schools including Special Educational Needs. I met up with Mark Baggott yesterday from the Earth Heritage Trust. He has been doing an absolutely remarkable job sourcing British Fossils in labeled boxes free for schools. So far over 150 schools have benefitted.

Reading the handwritten letters first hand, from children who have had the opportunity to handle fossils from these boxes is an absolute delight and shows the impact they can have to educate and inspire. Coprolites (fossil poo) are always a hit!

Mark has also been seeking funding to support schools in inner city deprived areas. He has also developed boxes with larger fossils by demand, for special needs children and students, and Braille sets designed themselves by blind and partially sighted students in conjunction with the Royal National College for the Blind.

If you would like to be part of the project contact Mark at the link in the comments. From donating fossils, sponsoring boxes for schools (£40 per box), to delivering boxes if you are travelling to a location that needs them – it all helps!
