Enjoyed listening and giving a talk to the AAPG and Mining Young Professionals network yesterday. Excellently organised event and thought provoking discussions.

Great session from Graeme Bagley on soft skills, then an inspirational talk from Promise Ekeh .This was followed by geoscience digitalisation talks from Shashwat Verma , Peter Kiss and myself on unstructured data and large language models. Some great questions, including ethics of AI in the geosciences.

The 3D printed Foraminifera (Globigerina) complete with internal structure from Peter was of particular interest – a beautiful model shown in the photo.

The networking event followed, lively discussions on what the future might hold, in an informal setting, with beautiful views of the River Thames on a lovely sunny day in London. It was a pleasure to be invited.
